Humiliation 1

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am writing code on the Powerbook.

And there was much rejoicing. Smug bastards.

The circumstances in this case being the complete and total non-functioning of the Sager Notebook. This thing is deep-sixed, totalled. It worked fine one day, and then decided to lock up the keyboard… next thing I know, the LCD doesn’t come on 19 times out of 20, and when it does come on it will freeze randomly. I know it’s not Windows, because it freezes on the BIOS menu. Which is scary.

So anyway, Eclipse on the Powerbook. Incredibly pokey. Jumping to a method takes me a good two split seconds. I can see I’m maxing out the memory again, and I just got 512 MB… really, this is all a plot to make me lose the last vestiges of my self respect. I’ve caught myself saying “You know what doesn’t crash? Powerbooks.” and disgracing myself in public.

The Sager’s going to have to be RMAed. All the data is backed up, thank god… it seems like every single laptop I’ve had has lasted exactly a year before blowing up for no discernable reason. Go figure.
